“Mountain Rainier” – this image was shot at Mount Rainier National Park, Washington.

Mr. Lough explains this special memory of his, “My daughter and I, while on one of our annual trips together, decided to hike up to cliff lake in Mt. Rainier National Park in Washington state.

The hike isn't all that hard and I thought that I could pass along some of my gear to my daughter to help carry it to the top. Well that lasted for about 100 yards, it was only the tripod....but in her defense it was about as heavy as she was.

Perhaps we push ourselves to heights greater than ourselves, or maybe we have others push us; either way the results are the same, we always grow from the experience. I hope she was able to grow, if only a little bit.

I know she had a lot of fun once we reached the top! “
